Job Summary:
Service Readiness are in the process of preparing and building a small team to perform and/or coordinate Operational Acceptance Testing and Co-ordination (OATC) activities to help raise confidence of successful deployments for projects/programs that engage the Transition process.Service will be introduced for new and enhanced services engaging the transition process, primary focus on enterprise programs.The Operational Acceptance Testing and Coordinator Lead role is responsible for managing and running the OATC team within Service Readiness. This small team will be coordinating and/or performing a series of tests to validate that GIS requirements have been met at the time of deployment to ensure successful handover to the Operational Readiness teams. This is to provide support to the program to ensure that operational requirements are met prior to introducing the service into the live network. This position will be part of the Environment Readiness team within the Service Readiness team in Service Portfolio Management. Subject to availability the team will support any program or project that is engaging the Transition Process.

Essential Functions of the Job:

Responsible for OATC team activities and strategy relating to GIS Requirements testing:

Help define and implement the strategy for OATC within IT Services

Building relationships within GIS and ensuring GIS Requirements are available prior to implementations. Consulting with Programs to ensure new GIS requirements is being considered for OATC activities.

Assurance of testing results being delivered by the OATC teams including performing proactive checks and balances to identify compliance anomalies including adhoc test witnessing of test execution (ORTC team).

Identify additional reporting needs to gain efficiencies and promote automation.

Contribute to low level Post Implementation Reviews (PIRs) for failed deployments or changes.

Ensure GIS Requirements have been gathered for each deployment/implementation the program from the correct Operational teams.

Writing OAT plans and gaining agreement of the OATC plan to ensure the appropriate level of planning, testing, validation and communication has been performed by programs.

Assurance of the testing and delivery of the OATC approach

Work with vendor management teams to ensure Operational Acceptance Test strategies and criteria can be met by vendors

Create report template to present data on OATC progress to stakeholders.

Test Assurance of Operational Acceptance Requirements delivered by other work streams (if applicable) and ensures they are delivered in time and to an acceptable level of quality.

Analyse reporting to identify trends and target areas for improvement.

Act as an escalation point for the OATC team to present findings and issues.

Build relationships and work with Service Readiness Leads to contribute to Service Readiness strategy and vision.

Build relationships with other test functions within IT Services.

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:

Determine if OATC is ready for approval, deferral or rejection based on content and quality of test results.

In the event of test failures to contact RFC Planning Manager / Implementer and/or impacted Operational team for more information to determine if deployment should be delayed or cancelled.

Determine when to escalate to management as opposed to following scripted procedures, depending on the seriousness of the anomaly.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Mandatory

Excellent English language skills (verbal and written).

Excellent people skills.

Good understanding of the ITIL Change and Configuration processes.

Basic awareness of different cultures and working practices across the regions.

Experience in working as part of a diverse and geographically dispersed team.

Experience working in an Operational environment.

Excellent analytical skills and can demonstrate proven track record in testing

Capable of analyzing complex requirements and design specifications and designing tests to prove requirements have been met.

Ability to manage broad range of stakeholders in a highly pressurized environment

Previous experience of writing OAT documentation.

Previous experience of testing operational procedures and processes

Optional

Supervisory skills or Program experience.

Testing skills or test experience

Considerable experience testing operational procedures and processes and knowledge of ITIL.

Supervision Responsibilities:

The incumbent should meet regularly with the process manager and process SME to maintain alignment of purpose and direction. Due to the geographical dispersion, this role requires the ability to think quickly and make sounds decisions without constant supervision.

There is not expected to be any direct reports to this role.
